Necessary Clothing
Client: Necessary Clothing is a family-owned fast-fashion retailer geared toward women looking for the latest trends. With more than 15 years of success with their brick-and-mortar stores, the owners sought to expand customer engagement through digital channels, which included the launch of their e-commerce website.
Problem: The company e-commerce site was receiving thousands of visits per day, however customers would leave after a minute or so. This demonstrated that there were missed opportunities to engage customers and get them to complete a purchase. There were reasons why this was happening, but the CEO couldn’t identify why.
Role: Art Direction • UX/UI Design • Graphic Design
Hypothesis: The CEO asked to identify all the areas of the website that needed improvement to increase click through rate and sales, and decrease bounce rate. The 4 areas of focus were revising the header, navigation menu, mobile site, and blog.
Results
After 1 week of testing, the website received 12K visitors, the revisions showed a 17% increase in orders and 62% increase in revenue.
How I Helped: I redesigned the homepage and lookbook pages with mobile in mind. I utilized Optimizely for A/B testing to test the UI updates that I made. In addition, I designed all the digital marketing graphics, showcasing new arrivals for the desktop and mobile website, email newsletters, and social media ad campaigns.
